Large parts of Scotland previously thought not to be at risk from potentially cancer-causing radon are to be tested after experts claimed significant levels of the gas could be present. Seven council areas in Scotland’s central belt are to undergo investigation after a new study whih highlighted new places where high levels of radon gas could occur.
As a result of this new study, Edinburgh, Mid, East and West Lothian, Falkirk, East Renfrewshire and South Lanarkshire are now classified as “Radon Affected Areas”.
