Radon is a natural and radioactive gas, worldwide diffused.
This gas is particularly dangerous for human health, since it shows itself by the emission of alpha particles (the result of radioactive decay), and the World Health Organization classified it as the second leading cause for the occurrence of lung cancer.
The WHO itself has recently reduced the risk concentration level from 1000 Bq/mc to the current 100 Bq/mc. Radon is also a forerunner studied for heartquakes and volcanic eruptions forecastings.
