Gian-Franco Dalla Betta
Gian-Franco Dalla Betta, graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Bologna in 1992, Ph.D. at the University of Trento in 1997, is associate professor of Electronics at the University of Trento. His research activities are focused on: 1) the study and development of radiation and ionizing particle detectors; 2) the study of sensor-oriented CMOS fabrication processes and structures; 2) the development of image sensors based on CMOS technologies and 3) the design of electronic systems for the implementation of analog cellular neural networks.
He is co-author of an european patent and author of 215 scientific pubblications and 85 congress presentations with published proceedings. Thanks to his findings and contributions to the development of silicon radiation detectors he was awarded with the ”Certificate for outstanding contributions in the field of nuclear radiation measurements“ by the IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Science Society in 2004. Prof. Dalla Betta has been head of the Group of Electronics of AEI (Trento) since 2004; he has beenIEEE Senior Member since 2006. Since 2005 he has been member of the Technical Committee of the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference and Associate Editor of the IEEE Transaction on Nuclear Science journal since 2008.
